Trump Gets "Google Bombed" as Idiot
Google "idiot" now and you probably get Donald Trump's photo in the first page of Google's Image search.
This is an unfortunate, or fortunate, act of Google Bombing. Google Bombing is "an attempt to make a search term return a website for an unexpected person or organization when entered in a search engine (typically for satirical or humorous purposes) by the creation of numerous links to that website from pages including the search term".
For this to work, many would have labelled a photo of Trump as idiot. The more sites this idiot photo appears, the more Google algorithm will process the word "idiot" as Trump.
This takes on a life of its own when media outlets start reporting on this with headlines like "Trolls propel Trump to top Google ratings for “idiot”", the more likely Google will show the news when one searches for the word "idiot".
That's how smart AI is today.
